When on Google Earth 130

As the winner of Edith van den Burg's WOGE 129, identifying it as Halibiye, or Zenobia, in Syria, this is my challenge; be the first to identify the location and date of site in the picture below, and you can host you own When on Google Earth!


It is high time someone got this so here is a clue:
the picture has more to do with NASSER than NASA . . .

I missed that. Has it been solved?

It's Uronarti (Chesef-Iuntiu),
one of several Middle Kingdom (ca. 2055-1650 BCE) fortresses in Nubia.

Congratulations KCB - you are correct it is the Middle Kingdom fort of Uronarti, an answer that has eluded everyone else for a very long time!

It is located on an island in Lake Nasser created by the damming of the Nile at Aswan.
